Trauma Recovery Clinic
Our Trauma Follow-up Clinic provides post-hospitalization care for traumatically injured and acute general surgery patients.
Our clinical team has extensive experience in a number of specialties and subspecialties to meet your complex, ongoing medical needs. We also provide life-changing medical care to thousands of children through our Pediatric Trauma & Burn Center.
Whether you’re recovering from a car crash, a fall or trauma from an unexpected event, our goal is to help you through multiple stages of recovery. Our follow-up care services include additional procedures, operations and treatments beyond your initial medical treatment. We closely monitor your progress, making sure you get the follow-up care you need during the weeks and months that follow a life-changing event.
Our Trauma Follow-up Clinic provides:
- Plastic, orthopedic and other trauma follow-up surgeries
- For some injuries, X-rays and other diagnostics
- Counsel on work, school or other activity restrictions
- Coordination of physical and occupational therapy as needed
We provide the convenience of an in-clinic radiology department, which makes follow-up appointments faster and easier. For those who need splinting and casting treatments, our nationally certified technicians have advanced medical knowledge.
As part of our follow-up clinic services, many of our patients with burns, broken bones and other serious injuries receive ongoing treatment and physical therapy. Extensive outpatient services are also available as your rehabilitation progresses.
Trauma patients can also access community resources and emotional support services through our membership with the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN).
Trauma-Informed Care
Our doctors, nurses and technicians provide trauma-informed care by treating all patients with respect and being aware that you may have past experiences that could affect your behavior and comfort level while receiving treatment in a hospital environment.
Our caregivers explain what they’re going to do before they do it. We realize that good communication is key to minimizing stress during medical emergencies. Trauma is a complicated event and we aim to treat every visitor with compassion and understanding.
