Did you know that 1 in 3 people in San Antonio has prediabetes?

Symptoms of prediabetes are often mild, so you may be unaware you are developing diabetes. If you don’t know if you have diabetes or prediabetes, ask your primary care provider to test your A1c. An A1c test measures your blood sugar levels over the past three months and reports it as a percentage.

If untreated, diabetes can lead to blindness, amputation and other severe health issues. The good news is diabetes can often be delayed or prevented with regular visits to your health care provider and healthy lifestyle choices, like exercise and a balanced diet.
