After an illness, injury or surgery, regaining function in your hand or hands might be your top priority. Our hand therapists have either completed advanced study in hand therapy, have additional national certification through Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) and/or have significant experience to treat conditions of the arm and hand.
We work closely with orthopedic and plastic surgery physicians to achieve the best possible outcome. An occupational therapist will evaluate you and ask about your goals, then develop and execute an individualized treatment plan. Our goal is to return you to your highest possible level of independence in work, life and daily activities.
Hand therapy consists of assessing and treating any condition that limits your use of your arm and hand. Whether the limitation is due to an accident, sport injury or other condition, rehabilitation is needed to strengthen muscles, reduce pain and restore movement.

Bioness H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation System
Our dedicated team of therapists uses a Bioness® H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation System. This might help you regain hand function more quickly and return to your daily activities. Bioness® is an advanced electric simulator that re-educates muscles and aids in recovering strength, range of motion and control.
The Bioness® H200 hand rehabilitation system we use is specially designed to help a number of specific issues patients struggle with and helps to:
- Increase hand function
- Increase or maintain hand range of motion
- Reduce muscle spasms
- Prevent muscle loss
- Reeducate muscles
- Increase blood circulation
The training is programmed by your clinician to stimulate the appropriate nerves and muscles of your forearm and hand. This helps to re-educate electrical brain signals, stimulating weak or paralyzed muscles. Certain patients might even benefit from having Bioness® H200 unit for home use.
