UTSA Institute for Economic Development
The UTSA Institute for Economic Development offers professional, confidential one-on-one advising to business owners looking to start or expand their business. Programs and centers provide management advising in a variety of areas including accounting, financing and loan packaging, capital acquisition, business planning, marketing, human resources, economic development, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
San Antonio SCORE
Chapter 164 San Antonio was chartered in 1974 to serve as a unique resource within the local business community by providing efficient and effective delivery of pro bono, high quality technical and managerial mentoring and guidance to prospective and existing small businesses and non-profit organizations in the greater San Antonio, Texas area. The Chapter relies on the services of some 40 business men and women with real-world experience and a strong belief in the importance of small business.
Bexar County Small Business & Entrepreneurship Department (SBED)
Bexar County Commissioners Court recognizes the importance of small local firms, advocates the growth of these businesses, and works to build partnerships with numerous federal, state, local and private sector organizations where opportunities are provided for small local firms to access and compete for contracts.
LiftFund
LiftFund is a designated community development financial institution, or CDFI. CDFIs are working in neighborhoods across the United States to provide affordable, responsible credit, create and sustain jobs, and to stabilize communities. CDFIs finance community businesses, including small businesses, microenterprises, nonprofit organizations, commercial real estate and affordable housing.
Procurement and Technical Assistance Center
The University of Texas at San Antonio Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is a specialty center of the South-West Texas Border SBDC Network. The SBDC Procurement Technical Assistance Center assists small business owners, veteran entrepreneurs, women-owned small businesses, employers, and energy conscious business owners in a 79-county area.
City of San Antonio Economic Development-Small Business Development
The Small Business Economic Development Advocacy Program (SBEDA) uses the City of San Antonio’s purchasing power to build the capacity of small and local businesses by assigning participation goals to City contracts and eliminating barriers to competition.
