About
I joined the UT Health San Antonio Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology Division in 2011. I currently serve as the Humana Foundation Distinguished Chair of the Department.
I received my A.B (Artium Baccalaureus) and M.D. degrees from the University of Missouri, and completed my Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA in 1992.
I then completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA in 1996.
Career Highlights:
I previously served on active duty in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and retired at the rank of Colonel after more than 26 years of service. I served as both the Chairman and Residency Program Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the San Antonio Military Medical Center and the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.
I am board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. I currently serve on the Accreditation Council for Graduate, and previously served as Chair of the Education Committee of the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I am a board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology for both the specialty and reproductive endocrinology and infertility subspecialty certification examinations.
Research Interests:
My current research interests are in infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
