About
“A physician is obligated to consider more than a diseased organ, more than even the whole man—he must view the man in his world.” — Harvey Cushing
I’m a pediatric neurosurgeon at University Health.
I chose medicine because, when I was 8, someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. As a snarky little kid, I responded, "a brain surgeon." It stuck, so here I am.
Philosophy of Care
I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person, and as such, I endeavor to treat each of my patients as I would treat my own family.
My Favorite Thing about Practicing Medicine
I take care of kids primarily, and I love being able to watch them grow up into fully functioning adults as a result of us taking care of them early on.
Areas of Clinical Expertise
I specialize in congenital malformations, like spina bifida and tethered spinal cord, as well as all things affecting the spine – spine tumors, scoliosis and herniated discs.
Hobbies
When I’m not practicing medicine, I enjoy running, hiking, reading, traveling and doing LEGOs. I live in San Antonio with my husband and two Sinclair dinosaurs, Otis and Ollie.
