ENT Treatments for Kids
Depending on your child’s condition, your ENT doctor may recommend nonsurgical or surgical ENT treatments. Feel confident you’ll get a treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs.
Chronic Ear or Sinus Infection Treatment
Seek specialized ENT care if frequent ear infections or sinusitis get in the way of your child’s ability to enjoy everyday activities. Your pediatric primary care doctor may try common treatment options, including pain-relieving medications, antibiotics and other methods.
If these conventional treatments do not work, your ENT may recommend:
- Ear tube placement to reduce fluid buildup and infections
- Endoscopic sinus surgery to remove blockages and clean out the sinuses
Nonsurgical Pediatric ENT Treatments
Your doctor will recommend nonsurgical treatments first to treat your child’s condition. Treatments may include:
- Earwax removal from a blocked ear canal
- Foreign body removal from the ears, nose or throat
- Airway management to keep breathing passages clear and air flowing
- Medications, such as antibiotics
- Nosebleed control by packing the nose to stop bleeding or applying heat to close the blood vessel
- Tongue and lip tie release
