A milestone for TDI, and a chance to honor those in the fight against diabetes
November 13, 2019
Establishing the Texas Diabetes Institute was part of a major transformation for University Health, a boon for the West Side neighborhood where it resides, and where the incidence of diabetes is among the highest in the nation. The Texas Diabetes Institute, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will look back at its founding and recognize those who have made contributions in the treatment, prevention and public awareness of diabetes at its annual Wall of Honor luncheon. An inaugural leadership award will also be presented in a special tribute to the late Bexar County Commissioner Paul Elizondo.
