New Physician Leader at Community First Health Plans
Priti Mody-Bailey, MD, has joined Community First Health Plans as vice president and senior medical director. Community First is the nonprofit health plan owned by University Health.
Prior to her new role, Dr. Mody-Bailey served as president and chief executive officer of University Health’s nonprofit provider group practice, Community Medicine Associates (CMA). Over the past six years, Dr. Mody-Bailey was instrumental in growing CMA into the largest provider primary care group in San Antonio and establishing patient-centered medical homes across the community.
Dr. Mody-Bailey’s leadership and experience will be critical to Community First Health Plans’ success in providing health coverage to more individuals and families through the health insurance exchange.
“Her passion for patient care and commitment to physician education will no doubt result in innovative programs to improve quality, communication, customer service and utilization, while engaging CFHP providers,” said George B. Hernandez, Jr., president/CEO, University Health. “This is a tremendously important position in our organization, given the changing healthcare environment, particularly in terms of how services are delivered and how quality is measured to improve patient outcomes and empower people to adopt healthier lifestyles.”
