Baked Lemon Herb Tilapia

This recipe is simple, healthy and flavorful!

Tilapia is a mild white fish that cooks quickly and takes on the flavors of the lemon and herbs beautifully.

Baked Lemon Herb Tilapia

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 4-6 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 lemon, sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano (or 1 teaspoon of fresh oregano)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder (or 1 clove of fresh minced garlic)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  3. Place the tilapia fillets on the prepared baking sheet and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the fillets. After, sprinkle the thyme, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper over the fish.
  5. Place 2-3 thin slices of fresh lemon on top of each fillet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the fish is opaque throughout and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  7. Optional: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  8. Serve immediately with extra lemon wedges on the side.

Recommendation

Serve with steamed or roasted vegetables (like asparagus or green beans) and a side of rice or quinoa to complete the meal.
