Honoring those who served

The men and women who serve patients at University Health continue their annual tradition of paying tribute to the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country

As we head into the Veterans Day weekend, University Health will honor the men and women who served as members of the U.S. Armed Services, including physicians and staff members at University Health. Keynote speaker will be Col. Dr. Chetan “CK” Kharod, assistant professor of Emergency Health Services at UT Health San Antonio and associate professor of Military and Emergency Medicine at F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, The Uniformed Services University.

WHO: Master of Ceremonies: Lorrie Elizarraraz, executive director of facilities management at University Health and MSgt., U.S. Air Force Reserves, 1st Sgt.

Keynote Speaker: Colonel Chetan “CK” Kharod, M.D., MPH Dr. Kharod is dual-board certified in Emergency Medicine (EM) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Dr. Kharod has served for over 26 years and deployed multiple times to Southwest Asia and other locations worldwide providing critical care air transport, frontline emergency care, special operations medical support and leadership of multifunctional combat support teams. His military experience spans clinical, operational, academic and research domains with a variety of emergency response, field oversight and executive roles.

WHAT: Remarks by current and former military, singing of National Anthem, historical photos and a wreath displayed at University Hospital.
