University Health once again named a San Antonio Top Workplace

For the third straight year, University Health team members have chosen it as one of San Antonio’s best places to work in the San Antonio Express-News’ annual Top Workplace survey.

“As University Health has once again been recognized as a Top Workplace, this honor reflects how we work together as one team, united by our commitment to excellence in care and service,” University Health President and CEO Ed Banos said. “Our board of managers often hears how our employees are truly the heart of University Health—dedicated, compassionate and mission-driven. This recognition confirms University Health as a place where people feel supported, empowered and proud to work. As we continue our unprecedented growth and expansion, I am confident that the same culture of excellence and teamwork will thrive in our new facilities and beyond.”

What makes this recognition special is that it is based solely on results of a third-party, confidential survey sent to University Health’s team members through employee engagement technology partner Energage. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow, and empowered to execute, to name a few.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

As the only locally owned and operated health system in San Antonio and Bexar County, University Health takes to heart its responsibility to serve the health needs of the community today and into the future.
