Childbirth Preparation

Prepare yourself for life with a baby by attending the Childbirth Preparation class. Get ready for the birthing process with our Childbirth Preparation class, designed to help expectant parents feel informed and supported. This is not a Lamaze class. Registration is required due to limited space. One adult labor support person is encouraged to attend and does not need to register.

Space is limited, so registration is required. You’re encouraged to bring one adult support person, and they don't need to register.

Registration Requirements

You must:

  • Have a University Medicine Associates or UT Health San Antonio obstetrician
  • Plan to deliver at the Women's & Children's Hospital
  • Be at least 28 weeks pregnant when attending this class
  • Ask your doctor if you should attend if you have a high-risk pregnancy

Class Location and General Information

The English, Birth and Infant Care Preparation class is a two-day event that starts at 9:00 AM each day. Only the pregnant client and the 1 adult, labor support person are allowed to attend. Childcare is not provided and for their safety, children are not allowed.

Class is held at University Health Main Campus on 4502 Medical Drive, San Antonio TX 78229. Meet instructor at the Women's and Children's Hospital, Level 1, near the Visitor's kiosk by 8:45 AM.
