About
I received my medical degree in 1996 at the Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. I completed my internal medicine residency training in Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia, and completed fellowship training in cardiology and level III adult echocardiography at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
I trained in cardiac MRI and cardiac CT at Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center in Durham, North Carolina and Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute of New York. I have held academic appointments at UTMB Galveston and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
I have a passion for Women's Health. While at Baylor College of Medicine, I developed a Women's Center promoting comprehensive, evidence-based care. After joining UT Health San Antonio in 2011, I developed the Women's Comprehensive Health Institute (WCHI) at the Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC).
The goal of this center is to coordinate care for women of all ages. We want to promote healthy lifestyles and provide screenings and treatment for our female patients in a convenient, easy access, same-day experience.
As a cardiologist, I provide cardiovascular risk stratification to and high-risk pregnancy expert opinions to female patients. I incorporate multi-modality cardiovascular imaging in the decision-making process. I use echocardiography, nuclear myocardial perfusion stress testing, exercise stress testing, coronary CTA, calcium scoring and cardiac MRI.
I am the Medical Director of the cardiology practice at the MARC. I am a passionate teacher and serve as the Director of Nuclear Cardiology for the Division of Cardiology. I oversee the nuclear training of the cardiology fellows.
Philosophy of Care
I strive to provide compassionate, evidence-based cardiovascular care for the women of South Texas.
