Guest performers bring Christmas pageantry to kids at University Hospital this week
Magik Theatre, Ballet Conservatory of South Texas to perform
BACKGROUND: It’s not much fun to be a kid in the hospital during the holiday season. But thanks to the generosity of two terrific artistic groups, children at University Hospital will be treated to special holiday performances this week — The Gingerbread Man by The Magik Theatre this afternoon, and The Nutcracker by the Ballet Conservatory of South Texas on Friday.
Magik Theatre creators believe the theatre activates all of our senses, and every performance is a new experience. Their mission is to show young people the importance of theatre. The Ballet Conservatory of South Texas’ goal is to fulfill the developmental needs of serious young dancers regardless of economic background, and most of their instructors are members of Ballet San Antonio.
WHO: Hospitalized kids and their siblings will be entertained by performers from Magik Theatre and The Ballet Conservatory of South Texas
WHEN: Magik Theatre will perform today, Dec. 14 at 2:30 p.m., and The Ballet Conservatory will perform Friday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.
WHERE: University Hospital, 4502 Medical Drive. Meet in the lobby for an escort.
